OK, you pay money for your nails, you’re well within your rights to shriek! Prevent any further damage by securing it until you can get to us (or whoever your nail stylist is).
If the nail is torn but not completely broken off, wrap the fingertip with a plaster – first up and over the tip and then around the nail. Make sure you keep a bit of slack inside so as not to bend the nail.
